African doctors on the frontline in the battle against the spread of COVID-19 have received a timely boost with the arrival of 98,000 KN95 masks, thanks to the generosity of a private donor.  The masks will be distributed to rural and urban health care workers in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Madagascar.

“Million thanks ADFA!  This help of yours is FANTASTIC and timely!” said Dr Biruk L.Wamisho, Head, Department of Orthopaedics, Addis Ababa University and COVID-19 State of Emergency Response Inquiry Parliamentary National Board Member (on receiving 58,000 masks).

Along with these masks, ADFA also provided gowns, masks, gloves, sanitiser and face shields to the Hargeisa Group Hospital in Somaliland and the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona (HJRA) in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
