Taakulo Somali Community
Taakulo Somali Community is a multifaceted non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-partisan development and humanitarian aid organisation established in 2007 and headquartered in Hargeisa, Somaliland.
Working in partnership with international, and national organisations, Taakulo is dedicated to helping the disadvantaged people and communities throughout Somali by engaging in development and related activities and providing relief support and assistance, facilitating and promoting participatory local community activities and programs that emphasize human dignity and self-reliance.
Taakulo has been working in partnership with ADFA for over 10 years, and has been instrumental in facilitating many of the ADFA outcomes in country, with logistical and administrative support, the purchase and distribution of PPE and equipment to local partners and hospitals, and in country management of the ADFA Scholarship Program.
Taakulo has managed two infrastructure projects on behalf of ADFA, including refurbishment of the operating theatre block at Hargeisa Group Hospital, and the construction of a new Mother and Child Medical Clinic in a remote village in the Sanaag Region, in eastern Somaliland.

Diversity Action Network
Diversity Action Network (DAN) was established in 2002 out of the aspirations of local people to address issues of vulnerable groups in a post-war context of Somaliland. DAN, formerly known as the Disability Action Network, is a non-profit organization which provides physical rehabilitation and inclusion services to people with disabilities living in the Horn of Africa. DAN’s mission is to alleviate suffering, save lives, build resilience, and protect the rights of crises-affected communities, with a focus on the most vulnerable. They work toward their mission by offering services, including physical rehabilitation; promoting inclusion; aims to change society in which vulnerable groups live by removing or minimizing the attitudinal, physical, institutional, informational and communication barriers, as well as legislative, procedural and programmatic barriers.
ADFA has been in partnership with DAN since 2015, and provides equipment as well as funding support to DAN to deliver clubfoot clinics aimed at babies and children in the capital city, Hargeisa, and rural towns of Burao, Borama and Erigavo.
ADFA’s Clubfoot Manager, Dr Kate Stannage provides on-going technical support, training and mentoring to DAN.
