After a 3 year hiatus, Dr Sue Chapman, volunteer urologist, was delighted to be returning to Madagascar to lead a Urology Surgical team which included Karen Grieves, Phil Smith and David Baguley.

Over three weeks, the team performed 78 patient consultations and a whopping 44 operations, with post-operative care.  A general surgeon and surgical trainee received training, and equipment and supplies were donated to the hospital.

This assignment was supported by a Direct Aid Program grant from the Australian Embassy in Mauritius, SJOG Bunbury and Storz.  ADFA also acknowledges ongoing support for its Madagascar programs from Base Toliara, BlackEarth Minerals, St John of God Subiaco Hospital and Air Mauritius.
