Thanks to the volunteer orthopaedics team of Dr Tony Jeffries, Orthopaedic Surgeon, and Stephanie MacDonald, Theatre Nurse, who presented a number of training seminars to surgeons and nurses at three hospitals in Addis Ababa.

After a request from a number of Ethiopian surgeons earlier in the year, Tony presented an Open Techniques for Management of Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation Course at the Black Lion Hospital to 27 surgeons and residents.

Tony also completed 50 clinic consultations and provided hands on training during 4 major surgeries.

Stephanie presented Peri-operative Training to 5 nurses, an Infection Prevention and Control seminar to 9 resident doctors, and provided hands on training during surgeries.

Thanks to St John of God Murdoch Hospital for donating a large amount of invaluable equipment and supplies which were gratefully received by the hospitals.

ADFA acknowledges the generous support of Emirates Airline Foundation for donating flights for this team.
