Five medical volunteers returned from a very busy and successful two-week medical mission to Moroni, capital of Comoros.  Huge thanks to our volunteers:

Josiane Sabouriaut – Team Leader and Theatre Nurse

Lachlan Milne (Orthopaedic surgeon)

Miles Earl (Anaesthetist)

Clem McCormick (Orthopaedic surgeon)

Samuel Van de Velde (Orthopaedic Surgeon/Fellow)

Working out of the Caritas Hospital the team provided medical consultations to 247 patients and performed 24 operations.  The three main areas treated were clubfoot, rickets and obstetric palsy along with neglected trauma, osteomyelitis and osteoarthritis.  Thanks again to John Ryan AM, Managing Director of Ausplow Pty Ltd for the generous financial support which allows our volunteers to conduct this program.
