Comoros is a set of three islands – Grand Comore, Anjouan and Mohéli – situated off the coast of Mozambique and has a population of approx. 850,000 people.

In 2013, Australian Doctors for Africa expanded its programs to include Comoros. ADFA’s work was based at the Caritas Hospital, located in the capital of Moroni, Grand Comore.

Our work focused on the three main health issues suffered by children on Comoros – clubfoot, rickets and obstetric palsy.

ADFA are currently not active in Comoros (July 2023).
