In partnership with ISOLS and the Somaliland Orthopaedic Society, Australian Doctors for Africa delivered a hugely successful Musculoskeletal Tumour Course in Hargeisa, which was attended by 27 very engaged medical professionals.
Huge thanks to Professor David Wood for arranging and leading the two day course, and to the faculty team of Dr Ermias Gizaw, Dr Duncan Whitwell, Dr Said Osman Dahir and Dr Graham Forward for the great input.
Dr Said said, “The Sarcoma Course was a life-changing experience that transformed how we think about and manage sarcoma in Somaliland.”
Providing intensive training courses to surgeons and doctors is a sustainable way to advance skills and improve services to patients on an ongoing basis.
Thank you to our local partners, Taakulo Somali Community, for organisational support.
ADFA acknowledges the support of the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).
