The Toowoomba-based volunteer Obstetrics/Gynaecology team of Dr Lanziz Homar (Obstetrician/Gynaecologist and team leader), Dr Garrett Benson (Anaesthetist) and Joshua Hawkins (Theatre Nurse) visited Madagascar for 10 days to provide essential gynaecology and obstetrics services and training at two hospitals.

The team conducted 40 consultations, performed 5 major surgical procedures including three hysterectomies, and provided training for 12 specialists, doctors and medical students.  A large amount of equipment was also donated to both hospitals.

ADFA acknowledges support for its Madagascar programs from SJOG Hospital Subiaco, the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and Air Mauritius.
