Australian Doctors for Africa recently increased its support to regional hospitals in Somaliland.  Agreements have been signed with the Borama and Burao General Hospitals, which includes the provision of training and orthopaedic equipment.

Barkhad Mohamed Mohamoud, ADFA representative at Taakulo Somali Community, presented donated orthopaedic implants and equipment to Dr Ahmednour Sh. Abdirahman Elmi, Director of Borama Hospital.

Dr Ahmednour said “Your support comes at a critical time when resources are scarce, yet the burden of trauma and orthopedic disease in our region is ever growing. Thanks to your dedication and partnership, we are now better equipped to meet that burden.”
