As part of ADFA’s Female Orthopaedic Empowerment (FOE) Program, three female Ethiopian orthopaedic surgeons recently received support to attend training courses/conferences:

  • Dr Bethel Zeleke – the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery (BSCOS) 2024 AGM and Conference in Leeds, UK;
  • Dr Bezawit Tsegaye – the 5th Ganga Arthroscopy Course 2024 at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore India; and
  • Dr Ananya Kassahun – Executive Leadership in Global Surgery Course in Cape Town, South Africa.

The FOE Program is supported by a Direct Aid Program grant from the Australian Embassy in Ethiopia, and implemented by ADFA.
