Massive thanks to our committed volunteers – Graeme Wilson, Jake Warman and Lions Club of Claremont-Nedlands members, Lex Thomson, John Barnett, Andrew Porteous, and Steve Andrews – for helping us pack a sea container with donated medical equipment for the Hargeisa Group Hospital, Edna Adan Hospital, Diversity Action Network and Taakulo Somali Community in Somaliland.
With some skilled packing we fitted 200 items weighing 7,500 kg including 38 beds and mattresses, 2 birthing beds, 4 examination tables, an ophthalmic surgical microscope, wheelchairs, crutches, 32 boxes of gloves, and 65 boxes of equipment and supplies.
A million thanks to John, Michael, Les (for super forklift assistance) and the AWH team for your incredible support and assistance.
ADFA acknowledges the many equipment donors involved in this container – including SJOG Subiaco Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, Ansell, Karen Grieves, Dr Sue Chapman, Judy Thompson, Karlene Parish, Jenay Hudspeth-Stewart, Al Muhit and Bentley Hospital, Sportreat and many more, and Ryan Hipps and Harvey Courier for transport support.
